My bagger at Market Basket was chatty. This young person tried to chat with people as he bagged their groceries. I was watching the interactions between the bagger and the people who checked out before me and sadly no one would talk to him. When it was my turn the bagger told me he loved my sweatshirt. I thanked him. He then told me a joke and I laughed. He then told what his favorite drink was and I offered to buy him one. It made his day! He was so happy to be “seen!”

So, I told him I would try it for $20 on his card and I would pay the rest. The transaction went through, and I paid the $5. He gave a simple "thanks" and waited for his food.

And the new rules take away your driving license if you don’t get work authorization . These people came 3 years ago and established their lives. They have relearned their professions in English.
