Made cookies for sisters

And she had a good time.

A good visit.

She smiled back.

A fun afternoon supporting an important organization in my community, one which supports the unhoused population.

I met a person who was an immigrant to the USA from Peru. Despite my lack of command of Spanish, I spoke to them in Spanish to help them feel welcome here. She seemed truly grateful.

We were able to share information about what’s going on in our neighborhood, offer each other support, and bond by chatting and playing together.

I am always pleasantly surprised when a friendship begins.

I found out that one of my neighbors had suffered a loss and I tried to be a good listener.

He didn’t accept but appreciated me asking. I felt disappointed but I was glad I asked.

My coworkers husband has been having health problems and ended up in the hospital. She missed the first week of work, I asked what we could do to help her while her. She asked if I could make her some lunches her first week back.

Dress A Girl is an organization that provides clothing for girls with a label that we are told helps deter girls from being trafficked.

I cleaned out the huge weeds from a flower bed on my property that I rarely see but that my Neighbor has to look at every day. He expressed gratitude and even offered to share some extra flowers he has to put in to that space!

We had a team of walkers and made over $2000 for the local community kitchen.

Glad to serve my friend by watching her pets while she is out of town.

Our ward sister has been admitted to a nursing home and we are visiting her and providing items that she needs.

Was stuck behind a woman whose car had broken down. As cars passed by I decided I should stop and see if she was okay. She told me that she had roadside assistance on the way, but she was very appreciative that I had stopped to help anyway.

Every day at the end of my shift, the janitor comes around at work to empty the garbages. I felt like I should help rather than just watch him do it. I think this surprised him.

We chatted and laughed together. She was so nice and greatful for my help.

It was a great labor of love service sharing what we didn't need any more and fulfilling their needs and wants.

He was so greatful for our service in the community with our free clothing give away. We connected through Christ as he shared a couple of scriptures with me.

A neighbor injured himself, and he needed care and attention. He didn’t know exactly how to get the treatment he needed. I was able to point him in the right direction so that he could receive treatment.

A neighbor will be sending her daughter to college next week. She is sad that her daughter is leaving because her daughter is such a part of their home life. Having been through this before with our own children, I was able to offer sympathy. I was also able to offer support if she needed it as she goes through the sadness of her daughter’s absence.

A neighbor’s daughter is moving back home after a difficult time in her life. I offered to watch her granddaughter while they move her in.

Our Relief Society held a free clothing give away in August and we sorted donated clothes for people in need for them to take free.

I was hiking alone and I picked up trash that I found along the trail.

We had a great time and watched the sun set together.

Offered encouragement that her hip replacement surgery and recovery would be a success based on my own experience.

Helped a friend publicize an upcoming event by sending out press releases to local media

I have been offering support and encouragement to an immigrant friend who is living with fear and uncertainty about losing his job or his family at any moment.

My colleague’s father has Parkinson’s, and I drove him to Boston and talked at length about his relationship at this trying time.

But she still found out it was me.

In honor of International Leave a Zucchini on Your Neighbor’s Porch Day, I delivered fresh zucchini from my garden (and a few yellow squash) to four of my neighbors. I like having a humorous excuse to keep in touch with them.

As a husband and wife, we have a non member neighbor admitted to the hospital for several days. We spent time each day visiting her. She looked forward each day to our visits and most days, we were her only visitors

We have new materials we can work with or take apart jewelry that are troublesome. Make them comfortable to wear and use especially for elderly folks. It is rewarding to be creative and make one of a kind items. We keep learning and it's a delight to work with great people.

Made a new friend, enjoyed interesting conversation, felt lovely!

I felt like I was hired to protect there items. It made me stop what I was doing to acknowledge someone else. I felt powerful, which is a good thing.

I went to a movie at a local theater and there were only four other people in the small theater. We had a lighthearted conversation about the relative merits of various movie snacks. The strangers were very kind and the interaction made me value the shared experience of watching a movie in a theater all the more.

At the lake, I complemented a girl on her fluency in Romanian: I said, "your pretty fluent." I think this act of kindness made her day and my day, too!

This was an absolutely beautiful and unplanned conversation. I didn’t know there was a need there until about half way into the conversation, when I suspect he started feeling safe enough to open up. You never know.

Another sister and I have been working with a sister who is an elderly woman. We have been caring for her physically and emotionally as well as her needs to stay safe in her home.

Gave away two thirds of the raspberries that I picked to my neighbor

The funny thing is that when I walked downstairs to carry thisfor my neighbor then my husband carried something for her too!

It was a great experience to be there.

I was traveling to the Boston Airport on a bus to catch a flight to travel to Norway. When I got on the bus, I sat down in an empty row and put my stuff down on the seat next to me. The bus was filling up quickly with people like myself traveling alone. I saw a couple and their baby get on and there were no more seats together for them to sit with their baby. So I got up from my seat in the row I was sitting and said that they could have mine. I sat in the row behind them with another passenger.

The interview landed on what is the most important in his life. That followed by two way exchange of values. I was able share the restored Gospel. No money for preaching, teaching or LABORS OF LOVE Now when he’s in town we study the illustrated OT on phone and our missionaries are in the picture.

The best part was the conversation at the end. What a beautiful way to end the night — with a lot of connection, laughter, stories about that swing(!), and, of course, the Klondike bars :). Thank you, Bill, for the wonderful evening.

This co-worker was having a tough time when doing a specific job. I helped her navigate through it.

Gave away 2/3 of my raspberries to a neighbor.

I was pruning the blackberry bush, and met a traveler on the road named Yochanan (Hebrew for John so he said) white beard dressed in Forrest green with a Messenger bag and a staff. Upon hearing his name was Hebrew I shared that as I was pruning the bushes, I was contemplating Jesus Christ and what he has done for me and for all of humanity. He invited me to a soap shop that I couldn’t find. And I harvested some fresh and washed raspberries and left them where he would find them on his journey.

Our friends let us stay in their home for a few days so that we could have some beach time with our kids. When we got there things were in rough shape, because they had left in a hurry and hadn’t had time to clean. Before we went home I took the time to clean their house thoroughly, and leave things in much better condition than we found them! It was a good feeling to imagine them coming home to a perfectly clean house!

I almost walked by some litter on my morning walk, then I remembered the Nation of Neighbors challenge, so I stopped and picked it up!

I went out of my way to treat the cashier kindly, and he shared with me his whole story about participating in Boy Scouts and receiving his Eagle Scout award, which he was clearly very proud of!
