As part of Women's conference, I was recorded reading a story for the phone a book project.

While attending Women's conference this weekend I met at least one new person each day.

At Women's conference today, I helped make bookshelves for a non-profit organization that helps people getting reestablished in apartments.

Gathered unwanted items and donated them .

Spent the afternoon and evening as companions and supported his mtc zoom . Fed him and talked and worked together .

Read a story children can call in and listen to

Spent a few minutes with a person who seemed alone and chatted

Worked with a friend and visitor to assemble a bookcase

I helped a man get a bag at the grocery store meat counter.

Erin Jarvi accidentally had some boxes sent to her old address. We picked them up and took them to UPS to be shipped to her correct address.

Drove home fellow student at my kids school

The bus drivers were stuck on our street because of a down tree. I stood behind the buses to direct the drivers to safely backup.

Took a homemade meal to a family that recently had a baby.

Friend I knew from my kids school. Saw her and started talking. She wanted to have an excuse to exercise so we planned to meet the next day to exercise and then go out to breakfast.

Helped drive a seminary student to class

At a community cultural event with people speaking multiple languages, my family and I set up a table with a display, and I used my limited Spanish to explain the table to some Spanish-speakers and share some food. I wanted them to feel welcome.

As I was browsing at the store and an employee offered to help, I asked him his name and where he was from. We had a brief conversation and made a nice connection.

The sister missionaries invited me to tag along and help with a lesson.

Cleaned the church

Talked to some neighbors we hadn’t met and got to know each other a little bit. Ended up committing to exchange some plants this fall.

My neighbor knew that I was mechanically inclined and asked if I would assist him and teaching him how to do a brake job on his vehicle. We had a great time visiting together.

Listened to a neighbor explain how his life is changing and offered encouragement and support.

The school polling place always has a bake sale on election days - supporting the school PTO initiatives makes voting even sweeter!

As a selectman, I love helping ensure our elections run smoothly and accurately!

Enjoyed a nice conversation with a mother and daughter who moved in around the corner and were out for a walk. Welcomed them to the neighborhood and started to get to to know them

Our neighbor’s little girl came over and we talked about the beginning of her school year and encouraged her in learning to read. She seemed to feel valued and positive.

Chatted pleasantly and helped slide items to her while she slowly bagged. We thanked her at the end and she smiled gratefully.

My neighbor had left for the long weekend and he called me and told me that his cat was sitting on the front porch of his house and needed to be let in and gave me the code to his home. So I stopped, but I was going and went over and let his cat in. It made me happy to hear the cat give me a nice meow when I showed up.

Instead of keeping conversation light I was brave and asked deeper questions to really understand this person and see their needs

We are donating some toys to a family who just lost their physical possessions.

Donating adult coloring books to the senior center

Brought a good book and some garden veggies and listened and supported. We both felt better afterwards!

At my grandchildren’s school library

Our neighbor was walking by our driveway as my kids were riding bikes. The mom Commented on how well my kids ride their bikes . I told her they trained in balance bikes first. In fact I thought I still had our balance bike that my youngest had trained on. Unfortunately we didn’t but we did have a small bike that she could have. The mom was excited because they had just gotten a bike for their daughter but it was too big. She thought the training wheels would work best on the little bike.

Went to a local community meeting and was brave and shared my thoughts!

Made a nice connection with my client . Found out she was a flight attendant attendant and had a lovely conversation with her.

I did it because I wanted to make my brothers happy.😁

I did it because she needed help.

Will help 3 cancer patients

Unexpectedly brought food for missionaries during lesson!

Helped them move in! Was fun, lots of other people from the wards in attendance.

Came to help them with a lesson involving Dennis investigating the church!

Helped someone with their family history

I saw children running a lemonade stand on a busy road without many customers, I stopped and bought a couple cups and gave them a tip as well. On my return trip I bought another round!

Hosted a baby shower for two moms in the ward. My daughter got involved and helped with decor, food and invitations. Was fun serving our fellow sisters.

Usually keep in touch with birthday and Christmas cards, but felt inspired to call my friend and we enjoyed a great phone visit together. She said it made her day!

A couple had a flat tire and were frustrated with the AI phone agent while calling for roadside assistance. I chatted with them until they were able to reach a human.

I did it because I love organizing and it was in need of some repairs.

This was at my Dr.'s office. I was waiting, in the lobby. I did this -and my previous act of kindness, because kindness goes a long way. Not everyone, is always kind. 🙏❤️

We saw our new neighbor and took some time out of what we were doing to talk with her, find out how she was doing, and develop our relationship with her. Having a strong community is important to us, and we had a great time and shared a few laughs.

I met this older gentleman in the parking lot of Dunkin’ Donuts. He looked lonely, so I struck up a conversation and found out we both love cars. He told me stories of cars he built and showed me pictures.

We made several jams this summer. We made peach , strawberry freezer jam, blackberry jam, and Blueberry jam. We wanted to share them with our neighbors so we made small jars of jam to share with our neighbors. When we went on walks we would bring the jam with us us and deliver it to our neighbors.

We always love having the sister missionaries in our ward over for dinner. They always have such enthusiasm for the gospel. We love that.

Took a note to a friend today anonymously sharing what I love about her

Most of the time pt comes in the hospital without any family members with them especially the elderly,offering extra care gives them hope and love, they feel genuinely cared.

Grant held the door at the mall for several people coming in and out while we waited to meet up with dad

My kids made a goal to say Hi to every single person during our Sunday family stroll

I helped a friend pack in preparation for moving and was able to drop off a couple boxes of donations for her.

This past week I was listening to a BYU devotional and thought that my daughter in law would appreciate listening to it. I forwarded the link to her.

Took all their trash to the dump so they didnt have to deal with it

Took some flowers from our garden and gave them to a friend who loves flowers on her table.

Gave a person a ride back to their house due to car troubles

On a walk we visited with a neighbor, she shared how much she appreciated our family for always being so kind. We appreciate them for always encouraging our kids.

My neighbor really appreciated, my honesty & gave me a hug. Her niece had given her, some things she wanted her to have. She's accidentally, opened a couple of my parcels. We have similar names. Our neighbors are very good, around here & we help, one another.

Saw a Welcome baby boy” sign on a neighbors door when we were out for a walk, so we went back and made up a gift box for them and offered our congratulations on their beautiful family.

Supporter local blood drive

We had the missionaries and an investigator over for dinner and had a great conversation and time together.

Helped the missionaries print a document.

Reached out to check on friends.

I stopped to make a conversation with an elderly person in the grocery store who looked like they were very lonely.

We made our campsite better than we found it!

Person behind me at the store had a couple things, so I added them to my order.

It went better than I thought and my driver was patient (and entertained!). It was a good way to pass the time and get to know each other, and then we listened to Spanish-language Christian music together.

The kids were eager to jump in and help pack for our first family camping trip!

Struck up a few conversations and kept them going for longer than I normally would have. It’s nice to connect with people, and it’s a good reminder for both of us that most people are good.

Introducing yourself to neighbors & others, you begin to know them better. I wish to be part of - and help, our community & Ward. They've done so much, for me. I wish to give back, that kindness & love.

Went to Alaska to help my son for a week before his girls started school.

I took time to help a lady parked next to us with her groceries and had a nice chat.

Had friends over to play. Naomi gave one of her dolls to the little girl who said she didn’t have a doll at home.

Complimented the dancers and heard they were practicing for a competition soon and shared about one of our granddaughters performing and teaching in Idaho. We shared a fun connection!

Helped the neighbors take out the dogs and feed them

I wanted to brighten their day by giving them cookies.

Started a conversation with the man filling propane tanks and the conversation quickly progressed into a deeper discussion and offering comfort about him losing a friend.

Earlier this summer I saw a picture of the Savior that I hadn't seen before. I thought a friend would really relate to that picture and sent her a copy of it. I hope it reminds her how much she is loved.

Listened carefully to her as she voiced upcoming life choices. Offered hope and confidence. She returned later with a book to share.

I wanted to brighten their day by giving them cookies.

Took time to connect with salesperson and get to know their background.

Helped carry items from moving truck into new apartment, and befriended new folks, inviting mother and daughter to fiber arts meeting this week as some fabric boxes led to a conversation about our shared interest in quilting!

Went out of the way to wait where I could see another person if they pulled up and gave a conversation. It worked and learned about package delivery out in Mt Vernon

While being served so we could go to the temple, we met a couple traveling for work that will be on the road for a while with there 2 young kids. We invited them over for dinner that night and hoped a home meal was a nice change of pace and the kids loved their time together.

My friend was hosting a BBQ and was concerned she did not have enough seating. It was such an easy thing to do and the BBQ was great too!

The kids gave some toys to a family that visited our house when they were leaving

Helping our neighbors to figure out what was wrong with their electric motorcycle for their son. I figured out that the battery was no longer any good help take it apart and diagnose it.

Instead of stopping after the usual "Hi, how are you, fine," I asked a coworker a few more questions about what was going on in her life, and we each shared a couple of funny stories. It took less than ten minutes but it turned "passing by" into a real human connection.

He needed to get some birthday cards, but did not have the time, I brought in my "stash" and let him pick out what he needed! He was truly surprised by this act of kindness.

To make connections

80+ year Olds have problems with internet and establishing accounts, so I offered to help set up accounts and activate cards.

Sometimes something that is a big help to someone else is just a small little thing to the one helping.

Provided a place for the YW to gather, play together, and further develop community.

The kids wrote cards and made little drawings for the summer lunch lady.

Called him by name from his name tag and that surprised him! Helped him gather grocery carts from parking lot.

Rearranging my day to help a friend with a toddler having a rough morning.

I noticed a retired air force sticker on a truck parked by me. I said hello and chatted with the couple about the air force. My son is in the air force so we chatted about the jobs. My son will have the exact same job the man had. Micro connection 😄

Made a garden in our shared backyard to beautify and share “the fruit of our labors” with neighbors

Our oldest child decided to leave a fun birthday party to go find one of his friends who is having a hard time. He went out to talk to his friend and love on him and encourage him. It not only helped his friend, but brought so much joy to the mother watching this happen.

Compliments on a tattoo of a guy and had a great conversation over the next 2 hrs.

At the beach and then at the pool on two different days, I had already gotten dry, but the kids had asked me to come back in for the last 10 minutes. After some hesitation, I decided I couldn’t miss this opportunity.

The eldest child brought in clothes for each of his younger siblings to help mom and for everyone get ready for church!

I helped a new neighbor find the shutoff valves for her outside water and connect a sprinkler so she could water her lawn. We also introduced ourselves and exchanged contact info. Good neighbors make great neighborhoods!

We had a great chit chat while driving. I enjoyed getting to know my friend better.

At the beach we saw a couple working on a beautiful sand castle. We decided to go over and talk to them and ask how they did it. It was great to make a new friend.

Got to know a stranger and listened to his story. I shared positivity and encouragement for the intentional choices he has made to change the course of his life.

Invited a family over to our house to play and give mom a chance to talk.

We arrived early (imagine that) to an event and a car drove up asking for directions. We helped look it up and set him on the right path to his destination.

Expressed our gratitude for the beautiful work they do, chatted and got to know Pete a little.

The intention to build bond of connection.

Organized a shared work space by cleaning the cables that have been sitting doing nothing but being in the way of our product.

I used to never do double red donations because I hate the metallic taste but earlier this year, I gave it a try again after one of the nurses told me that they had an opening for double red and asked if I would consider switching to that instead of the standard donation. Thanks to some timely tums, I was able to avoid the nasty metallic taste so this time, I signed up for the double red donation.

Visiting and sharing happy memories with neighbor who recently experienced a tragic loss

Opened my home for teenaged boys to gather, to feel cared about, and to feel community.

Shared food and welcomed new folks who came to visit to join in the fun and the community

He was alone for a week while his daughter went to visit her sister out of state. We stopped by to check in on him and offer any help he might need. He was happy for the produce and caring visit.

A patron came into the FamilySearch center for the first time. Helped him get access to his account and resolve conflicts in his family line. I love helping people with their research; it gives both the patron and me a sense of connection.

She was appreciative and felt calmer. She asked for help to learn how to do something she didn’t know how and we set a date to get together for a meal and visit/help.

Just got to know someone new and hope they feel more integrated into the community.
